Super-typhoon "Yoyong" Approaches Luzon
Aurora on path of typhoon

Super-typhoon "Yoyong", packing center winds of up to 200 kilometers per hour, is on the path to Luzon and expected to hit either the provinces of Quezon or Aurora today or tomorrow.

The National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC) and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) have already sent out warnings to residents of Luzon to prepare for Yoyong. Authorities have already advised Luzon residents in low-lying areas to evacuate and that school classes be suspended.

The DILG has also asked the governors and mayors of provinces on the path of Yoyong to prepare by activating their local disaster preparedness coordinating councils.
