Aurorans ask DPWH for vital bridge
Residents of the central towns of Aurora appealed to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), especially to its chief, Secretary Hermogenes Ebdane Jr. to have a permanent bridge constructed in Barangay Villa in Maria Aurora.
Motorists and commuters usually get stranded in the area when the river overflows due to heavy rains. The decades old bridge Villa Aurora Bridge was destroyed by typhoons last November 2004. Prior to its destruction, the Villa Aurora Bridge was one of two major bridges that connected Aurora to Nueva Ecija and the rest of Central Luzon. The other major bridge into Aurora is the Labi Bridge located at Barangay Labi, Bongabon, Nueva Ecija.
Since Villa Aurora Bridge's destruction last year, had to use the Pantabangan-Canli road as an alternate route.
