ASCOT is Venue of RP-Spanish Forum

Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) recently hosted a discussion on the dimensions of the Philippines-Spanish relations based on friendship and cooperation on the eve of the celebration of the Philippine-Spanish Friendship Day in Baler, Aurora.

Historians, and academicians attended the discussion entitled "Amistad Duradera: Mga Larangan ng Pagtatagpo" at the ASCOT a day before the celebration commemorating the Siege of Baler which took place on June 30, 1899.

"It would be unjust today that we have not gained anything substantial from our relations with Spain," read a joint statement from the attendees of the discussion which included Dr. Ferdinand Llaner of ADHIKA, Dr. Luisa Camagay of the UP Press, Dr. Evelyn Miranda of the Philippine Historical Association, Dr. Jaime Veneracion of SAMKA, and Dr. Milagross Guerrero of the UP History Department.

Also in attendance was Aurora Governor Bella Angara-Castillo who has been a staunch supporter of intellectual and historical pursuits.
